Kim Min-jong Withdraws Complaint Against MC Mong, Saying, "I Wanted to Give the Junior Who Apologized Another Chance"

[Financial News] Singer and actor Kim Min-jong has withdrawn his complaint against singer MC Mong, who caused an uproar by referring to him as someone involved in illegal gambling.
On the 10th, law firm Okims, Kim Min-jong's legal representative, said, "The complaint filed with the Seoul Jongno Police Station on September 1 against MC Mong on suspicion of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation) was withdrawn on September 9." Attorney Oh Seong-heon represented the firm.
The decision came after MC Mong acknowledged that his remarks were wrong and apologized in person.
On September 5, MC Mong apologized during a TikTok live broadcast, saying, "It was wrong even to mention Kim Min-jong." Before that, the two had a candid conversation. MC Mong admitted that he had wrongly criticized Kim Min-jong emotionally without properly verifying the facts and asked for forgiveness.
Kim Min-jong suffered considerable damage as discussions over his appearance in a forthcoming Hollywood project and advertising contracts were suspended because of MC Mong's remarks and the resulting allegations.
However, because MC Mong personally asked for forgiveness, Kim Min-jong decided to bring the matter to a close without pursuing legal responsibility.
Kim Min-jong explained why he accepted MC Mong's apology, saying, "I thought it was also necessary to give someone who acknowledged his wrongdoing and apologized another chance." He added, "It is true that I suffered wounds and damage that were difficult to heal over the past four months, but I did not want to turn away from the feelings of a junior who reflected on his actions and asked for forgiveness. I thought embracing another person was a more meaningful choice than taking legal action."
He continued, "I sincerely thank all the fans and members of the media who have worried about me and supported me. I will continue to greet you from my rightful place with good music, acting, and a more mature side of myself."
