[Financial News] Nonghyup Bank has begun training frontline complaint investigators to improve its complaint-response capabilities and strengthen financial consumer protection.
According to financial-sector sources on the 10th, Nonghyup Bank held the “Training to Strengthen Complaint Investigators’ Capabilities and On-Site Communication Meeting” on the 9th in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, for 32 employees, including complaint investigators responsible for handling complaints.
The training and meeting were organized to improve complaint investigators’ investigation and handling capabilities as financial consumers become more aware of their rights and complaint types grow more diverse. They also provided an opportunity to hear directly about frontline difficulties and suggestions for improving systems.
The training covered complaint trends and major types based on recent complaint data and financial-sector disclosures. It examined the causes of responsibility and ways to prevent recurring complaints through major regional cases. Practical training was also provided to strengthen the judgment and response skills needed during investigations and complaint handling, focusing on actual cases.
At the on-site communication meeting that followed, participants shared difficulties encountered during complaint investigations and handling, areas for improving systems and processes, and matters requiring support from headquarters. They also discussed ways to improve the efficiency of complaint-related work while raising the level of financial consumer protection.
Nonghyup Bank plans to actively apply the suggestions presented at the event that can be implemented immediately. Matters requiring further review will be reflected in improvements to systems and work processes after consultations with the relevant departments.
Park Jang-soon, executive vice president of Nonghyup Bank’s Financial Consumer Protection Division, said, "Complaint investigators play an important role in protecting financial consumers by listening most closely to customers’ voices and identifying the causes of their complaints. We will continue to listen to feedback from the frontline and strengthen financial consumer protection in ways customers can feel through data-based complaint prevention and system improvements."
