[Financial News] Lotte Department Store has joined forces with Descente Korea to introduce the global sports brand ‘Move Sport’ for the first time among domestic retailers.
According to industry sources on the 10th, Lotte Department Store signed an MOU with Descente Korea to launch Move Sport in South Korea and is moving to target the sports market.
Move Sport is a sub-brand of Descente and a comprehensive sports brand that combines sports functionality with a sporty sensibility. It covers a range of recreational sports, including racket sports such as badminton and table tennis, as well as volleyball, handball and running.
Under the agreement, Lotte Department Store will open the first Move Sport store at its Changwon branch on the 29th. It plans to expand the stores sequentially and operate around 10 locations by the first half of next year. The product lineup will range from clothing to footwear.
Kim Jin-yeop, head of merchandising at Lotte Department Store, said, "This MOU to launch Move Sport marks an opportunity to introduce new sports content in South Korea through our close partnership with Descente Korea. With both reasonable prices and excellent functionality, we will provide customers visiting our department stores with a new sports shopping experience starting with the upcoming opening."
