[Financial News] The Ministry of Intellectual Property said Commissioner Kim Yong-sun met with Baek Tae-ung, Ambassador of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), on the morning of the 9th to discuss directions for Korea–OECD cooperation in intellectual property.
In particular, they exchanged views on ways to expand cooperation between the Ministry of Intellectual Property and the OECD Secretariat, including continuing and further advancing joint research on intellectual property protection and the illicit trade in counterfeit goods. They also agreed to cooperate on OECD joint research into the relationship between the use of artificial intelligence (AI), technological innovation, and a country’s potential growth rate.
Commissioner Kim said, "Taking this meeting as an opportunity, we will work closely with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the OECD to ensure that Korea’s intellectual property policies are actively reflected in OECD discussions."
