[Financial News] LIG Defense & Aerospace announced on the 10th that former Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and a delegation including MIZUSHIMA Koichi, Japan’s ambassador to South Korea, visited the company’s Pangyo House in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, on the 9th.
Ishiba and his delegation visited LIG Defense & Aerospace as the only South Korean defense company on their itinerary during their trip to South Korea. They held talks with Shin Ik-hyun, CEO of LIG Defense & Aerospace, and Jongsung Park, head of the Future Strategy Division, and directly reviewed the company’s advanced guided-weapons systems and research and development capabilities.
The delegation toured LIG Defense & Aerospace’s exhibition hall and reviewed the company’s major weapons systems and core technologies, including precision-guided weapons such as Cheongung-II, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, avionics, space systems, and unmanned systems.
The two sides agreed on the importance of security cooperation between South Korea and Japan amid the changing security environment in Northeast Asia. They also exchanged views extensively on ways to create synergies in the defense industries of the two countries.
Shin Ik-hyun, CEO of LIG Defense & Aerospace, said, "It is meaningful to have had the opportunity to share our advanced R&D capabilities and global competitiveness through this visit. We will continue to introduce trusted defense solutions in the future."
