According to industry sources on the 10th, SBA is recruiting three companies to move into Game Studio, a facility at the Seoul Game Contents Center located in the Synergium at the S-Plex Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
The Seoul Game Contents Center is a specialized incubation facility for game and esports companies. Game Studio, which is accepting applications this time, offers independent office space. Companies based in Seoul, as well as those seeking to relocate their headquarters or a branch to Seoul, are eligible to apply.
Eligible applicants include companies that develop and publish games, as well as companies and teams engaged in game- and esports-related businesses and related associations and organizations.
Tenant companies will receive not only office space but also mobile testing-device rentals, Adobe software licenses, and capability-building programs such as networking, seminars, and mentoring. SBA will also help connect them with its other game-support programs.
The program will also offer access to AI, cloud, and development-server support through external partners, along with opportunities to exhibit at game- and esports-related events and participate in related programs.
The game industry expects this model of providing both space and technology infrastructure to help reduce initial costs, as companies in the early stages of development face a heavy burden in securing office space and development infrastructure such as servers and software. Applications will be accepted through the “Business Application” section of SBA’s website until the 30th.
Moon Gu-seon, head of SBA’s Creative Industries Division, said, "We hope promising companies will establish a foundation for growth through this recruitment drive, creating synergy that also enhances Seoul’s brand value as a leading city for games and esports."
