Kim appeared on Democratic Party TV today and emphasized that he is stepping forward to prepare for the elections as the party leader, stating, "I believe there is a 99.99% chance that the Seoul Metropolitan City Mayor election and the Gangneung parliamentary by-election (next April) will take place."
Kim also revealed the list of candidates written in his notebook, stating, "'Hun-sik' refers to Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik, 'Won-sik' refers to former National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik, and 'Cheong-rae' refers to former Democratic Party of Korea leader Jung Cheong-rae." He added, "'Hyun-jong' refers to former head of the Office of Trade Negotiations Kim Hyun-jong," and further explained, "Seoul National University Professor Kyungmin Kim and former lawmaker Kim Jin-hye were also on the list."
However, he emphasized that he had not coordinated intentions to run in advance with the individuals whose names were on the candidate list. Kim clarified, "I have not sounded out the intentions of any of them," adding, "I merely jotted down notes as ideas while considering what points might appeal to Seoul."
