[Financial News] DRTECH Corporation’s surgical imaging diagnostic system (C-arm), developed for the global orthopedic market, has received certification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
According to industry sources on the 10th, DRTECH Corporation’s Extron6, which recently received FDA certification, reflects the requirements of various orthopedic surgical environments and medical professionals. In particular, it incorporates image-processing technology alongside a proprietary dynamic detector.
Extron6 features an optimized structure based on the “Over Tube” design and supports more flexible positioning in orthopedic surgical settings through “Orbit Rotation.” It offers specifications similar to those of the existing Extron7, while adding low-dose image-processing technology to produce stable, high-quality images.
DRTECH Corporation currently supplies the Extron series to leading hospitals and clinics in South Korea and overseas. The series combines an active sensor that detects imaging conditions with artificial intelligence (AI)-based image-processing technology, reducing radiation exposure while improving image quality and ease of use.
Compared with products from global competitors, the series incorporates low-dose technology that can reduce radiation exposure to as little as one-fifteenth of competing levels. It also includes RNR (Real-time Noise Reduction), Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), and Smart Memory Position functions. As a result, DRTECH Corporation’s Extron series received the Prime Minister’s Commendation at the 2025 Korea Technology Awards.
A DRTECH Corporation official stated, “As supplies of the Extron series to overseas markets, including North America, Europe, and the Middle East, increased this year alongside domestic shipments, related sales reached 9.4 billion won in the first half, up 52% from the same period a year earlier, marking the company’s entry into a high-growth phase.”
In particular, DRTECH Corporation recently completed performance testing for a large-scale supply of the Extron series to a global healthcare company. The healthcare company decided to use DRTECH Corporation’s detectors as well as Extron products.
A DRTECH Corporation official added, “We achieved strong results in the first half as sales volumes increased across most product lines, not just Extron. Quantitative and qualitative growth will remain possible in the second half, making this a year of a major turnaround in annual performance.”
Meanwhile, DRTECH Corporation’s revenue in the first half of this year was 68.9 billion won, up 17% from the same period a year earlier. This was the company’s highest-ever first-half revenue. Operating profit reached 1.3 billion won during the same period, turning profitable from an operating loss of 2.6 billion won a year earlier and improving profitability.
