According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the 10th, the '2026 International Broadcasting and Video Market (BCWW),' organized in cooperation with the Korea Creative Content Agency, will be held from the 14th to the 16th at COEX in Seoul's Gangnam District. Now in its 26th year, the event will operate 181 booths under the theme 'Illuminating Every Possibility.'
The event combines conferences, new-content demonstrations, and country-specific workshops with a trade-focused exhibition, linking production, distribution, and investment under one roof. The number of participating companies has reached a record high of 403, up by 31 companies, or 8.3%, from last year's 372.
Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), Fuji Television Network, iQIYI, Tencent Video, Fox Entertainment, KBS Media, MBC, CJ ENM, and HYBE will participate. Last year's event generated $97.29 million in contracts, equivalent to approximately 135.7 billion won at the exchange rate at the time.
The conference will examine changes in the broadcasting and video industry under the theme 'Reshaping the Global Media Ecosystem and the New Order.' On the first day, actor Kim Nam-gil will speak on 'The World Beyond the Cut.' Sessions will also analyze the global format market and revenue models for free ad-supported streaming television (FAST).
Director Lee Byung-hun and actor Lee Sang-yeop will discuss the growth potential of short-form videos. KT Studio Genie will present 'Chronicles of the Martial God's Return,' a short drama produced using artificial intelligence (AI). An audience event for 'Dive into You,' made in cooperation with global online video service Rakuten Viki, will also be held.
The 'K-Format Showcase,' held with Fox Entertainment, will provide domestic format producers with opportunities to attract international investment and pursue joint development. The 'Content Showcase' will introduce new works from 17 companies, including MBC's 'Rookie Director Kim Yeon-koung Season 2' and Studio S's 'Residential Matchmaking.'
The newly established 'Platform and Service Showcase' will feature new platforms and solutions from Hudson AI and Nova Square, among others. Workshops will be held to discuss co-production of dramas between Korea and Japan, as well as workshops with Singapore and the Middle East. The 'New Media Content Awards' ceremony and a promotional zone for domestic online video services will also operate.
Kim Jae-hyun, head of the Culture and Media Industry Office at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "The International Broadcasting and Video Market (BCWW) is a key event that showcases the excellence of K-content to the world and generates tangible business results." He called for broad interest and participation, noting that the event has expanded programs reflecting the latest industry trends and opportunities for international cooperation.
