[Financial News] A Jeonju apartment complex has sparked controversy after posting a notice asking delivery workers to raise their helmets so their faces would be visible.
On the 8th, a post titled "A notice posted at a Jeonju apartment asking people to make their faces visible" was uploaded to the Bobaedream Instagram account along with a photo.
The photo, which Bobaedream said it received through an Instagram direct message (DM), showed a notice titled "A request for cooperation from delivery workers and others who wear helmets."
The notice asked delivery workers and other helmet wearers to show their faces while inside the complex. It stated, "Many residents have complained that they feel anxious and afraid when people wear helmets that cover their faces. When moving around the complex or riding the elevator, please always raise your helmet so that your face is visible. We ask for your understanding and cooperation so that all residents can move around safely and comfortably."
The request concerned the visor commonly worn by delivery workers. A visor is a shield that protects the eyes or face from sunlight, and the notice asked people to raise it inside the apartment complex.
The attached photo showed a delivery worker wearing a helmet with the visor lowered, along with the message, "Please raise the face shield so that your face is visible." As the correct example, it showed a person wearing a helmet that covered only the top of the head, without a visor.
Bobaedream also shared opinions both for and against the request. It explained, "Those in favor say that covering one's face with a helmet can make people feel anxious and afraid because it renders CCTV ineffective, while those opposed say the request infringes on delivery workers' freedom."
Opinions among internet users who saw the post were also divided. Some argued that the apartment complex's request was excessive. They left comments such as, "If you're that anxious, pick up your delivery at the security office," and "If residents wear masks, are they going to make everyone take them off too?"

Others said the request was justified given residents' concerns. Internet users commented, "I understand to some extent," "Even as a man, I find it uncomfortable when someone wears a full-face helmet that hides their face," and "They're not even riding a motorcycle, so there really isn't any need to wear one."
