Duksung Women's University to Host a “Special Homecoming Day” Connecting Generations

[Financial News] Breaking from the conventional alumni events at universities that typically end after a shared meal, an unusual homecoming day will bring current students and alumni together in one-on-one pairs to explore the campus.
Duksung Women's University announced on the 9th that it will host the 2026 Duksung Homecoming Day, “Again, Us,” at 4 p.m. on the 19th at its Ssangmun Campus in Dobong-gu, Seoul. A total of 100 people will participate, including 50 alumni returning to their alma mater for the first time in years and 50 currently enrolled students.
The event's defining feature is that current students will serve as their assigned alumni's “dedicated one-day guides and companions.” Before the event, the students received training on how to warmly welcome and guide their senior counterparts. On the day, each student will be paired with an alumnus and accompany them throughout the entire program, from moving between venues to touring the campus and taking part in various hands-on activities.
The cultural program for alumni and current students will also offer a distinctive experience. After touring the campus, participants will change into traditional hanbok at Deokwoodang, a historic hanok building on campus, and enjoy a special party. They will take commemorative photos with “Walking in Kkotsin,” a traditional-culture planning group made up of current students, and naturally break down barriers between generations through various booth activities, including a pungmul performance and fortune-drawing.
Duksung Women's University plans to develop the gathering into a strong alumni network that extends beyond a one-time reunion, leading to career and employment counseling for younger students as well as donations supporting the university's development.
Na Jeong-jo, director of Duksung Women's University's External Relations and Publicity Office, said, “This is more than a visit by alumni to their university. It is an opportunity for seniors and juniors to walk together and share the past, present and future.” Na added, “It will serve as a chance for current students and alumni to connect as one across generations.”
