[Financial News] Actress Hwang Jung-eum expressed her gratitude to Julien Kang and his wife for looking after her and her two sons during a difficult period in the past.
On the 9th, Hwang Jung-eum released a video on her YouTube channel titled “The Day I Learned Exercise and Mukbang from Julien Kang.”
In the video, Hwang Jung-eum recalled that Julien Kang and his wife had invited her to their home during that difficult time. She said, “When I was going through a really difficult time, Julien and his wife invited me to their home.”
Hwang Jung-eum also spoke about bringing her children along. She said, “I took all the children with me to visit them, and Julien taught my sons, Wang-sik and Kang-sik, how to exercise and genuinely worried about them, so I was really grateful.”
Julien Kang said that he had only asked how Hwang Jung-eum was doing because he considered her a friend. He said, “I only asked because I think of Hwang Jung-eum as a friend and was worried about how she was feeling.”
Hwang Jung-eum also recalled filming MBC’s “High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged” with Julien Kang. She said, “We worked on the show together, and we got along so well that we developed something like comradeship.”

Earlier, Hwang Jung-eum married former professional golfer Lee Young-don in 2016, and they have two sons. Four years into their marriage, the couple filed for divorce mediation with the court in September 2020, but they reconciled in July 2021. Three years after reconciling, news broke in February 2024 that they were involved in divorce proceedings.
Meanwhile, Hwang Jung-eum was indicted in May 2025 on suspicion of embezzling approximately 4.3 billion won in funds from her one-person agency. The trial court sentenced her to two years in prison, suspended for four years. After Hwang Jung-eum did not appeal, the sentence became final.
