Teachers’ Pension to Channel Chuseok Spending Locally: “Promoting Purchases of Agricultural and Fishery Products from Naju”

[Financial News]  Teachers’ Pension, one of the major players in the capital market, has launched an initiative to promote consumption of local agricultural and fishery products ahead of Chuseok. Public institutions relocated to Naju Innovation City are seen as helping channel holiday spending into sales for local farmers, fishers, and small businesses.
According to Teachers’ Pension on the 9th, the organization participated that day in the “2026 Chuseok Regional Economic Revitalization Campaign,” held around the Teachers’ Pension intersection in Bitgaram Innovation City, Naju.
About 150 people, including representatives from Naju-si, Teachers’ Pension, Korea Power Exchange (KPX), Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI), other relocated public institutions, and local merchants’ associations, participated in the event. The campaign aimed to connect holiday demand with local businesses by increasing consumption of agricultural and fishery products and products made by companies in the area.
At the event, Teachers’ Pension encouraged purchases of local agricultural and fishery products with the message, “Share your feelings with holiday gifts of agricultural, fishery, and processed agricultural and fishery products—up to 300,000 won.”
Industry observers say the role of public institutions relocated to innovation cities in supporting local communities is expanding beyond simple social contributions to include boosting local consumption and supporting sales channels. An official from a public institution noted, “If relocated institutions join in purchasing local products during periods of concentrated spending, such as the holidays, it can provide practical help in expanding sales channels for farmers, fishers, and small businesses.” 
Song Ha-jung, chairman of Teachers’ Pension, emphasized, “I hope that interest in and consumption of high-quality agricultural and fishery products produced locally will provide real support to local farmers, fishers, and small businesses,” adding, “We will actively participate in various activities to revitalize the regional economy and promote mutual growth.”
