Vice Minister Im said, "Concerns are growing over damage to forestry households cultivating forest products due to the record-breaking heat wave caused by recent climate change. In particular, anthracnose is likely to occur in jujubes in humid conditions, and typhoons in the fall or frequent rainfall during the harvest season can directly lead to reduced yields and lower quality. Thorough preparations in advance are therefore necessary."
He added, "Ahead of the Chuseok holiday peak season, KFS is closely monitoring weather conditions and continuously monitoring damage to forest-product farms to stabilize the supply and demand of forest products. If damage occurs, we will work with relevant agencies to support rapid recovery."
