【Financial News Jeju = Reporter Jung Yong-bok】 A total of 1,185 artificial intelligence (AI) videos submitted from 101 countries around the world will come together in Jeju Province. The event will go beyond film screenings and awards by directly connecting domestic and overseas investment institutions with Jeju content companies, creating a platform to turn AI creations into actual investments and businesses.
According to Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Content Promotion Institute on the 9th, the 2026 Jeju AI International Film Festival & Jeju Global Content Forum will be held from the 15th to the 17th around the Be IN; performance venue at the Jeju Content Promotion Institute.
Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is hosting the event, while the Jeju Content Promotion Institute and the Jeju Regional Human Resources Development Committee are organizing it. The event combines an international film festival focused on AI-based video creation with a global content forum supporting local content companies’ investment attraction and overseas expansion.
This year’s Jeju Global AI Video Competition received 1,185 entries from 101 countries. Alongside the general competition, special competitions related to Jeju 4.3 and Jeju characters were also held, sponsored by the Jeju 4.3 Peace Foundation and Jeju Aepongdang.
A total of 23 works were selected as the final winners. They were judged primarily in the categories of fiction and nonfiction, as well as art and cultural videos, created using generative AI.
At the opening ceremony at 5 p.m. on the 15th, two humanoid robots will perform as part of the awards ceremony. The program will demonstrate how AI is expanding beyond a video-production tool into event hosting and the audience experience.
Lee Seong-heon, deputy CEO of advertising and video production company Dolphiners Films, will also visit Jeju Province. Under the theme “Survival Strategies for the AI Era,” Lee will examine how AI is changing creative methods in the content-production field and discuss the role of human creators.
All 23 winning entries will be screened on the evenings of the 16th and 17th. Director Q&A sessions will also be held, with some directors and audience members discussing the production process and the use of AI.
Another key component of the event is attracting investment for Jeju content companies.

The Global Content Forum will address how digital and AI transformation is changing the production, distribution, and revenue models of the local content industry under the theme “Response Strategies for the Local Content Industry amid DX and AX Transformation.” Kim Young-rok, CEO of Next Challenge, and Cho Su-hyun, CEO of BauerLab, will participate to discuss strategies for commercializing Jeju content and entering overseas markets.
Consultations will also directly connect companies with investment institutions. About 20 domestic and overseas investment and related institutions, including accelerators (ACs) and venture capital firms (VCs) such as KB Investment and Next Challenge, will participate. Jeju content companies that apply in advance will receive one-on-one consultations with investment institutions lasting about 15 minutes each.
Rather than focusing on networking centered on the exchange of business cards, the program is designed for practical consultations on companies’ business models, investment stages, and funding needs. For local content companies, it will provide an opportunity to meet investment institutions that are not easily accessible in Jeju Province in one place.
The venue lobby will also feature a pop-up and interactive exhibition space with the participation of about 20 content companies from Jeju Province and elsewhere.
Animation company Greenwood, media art company Inspier, and AI travel platform Hueple will showcase their business models, characters, and merchandise. Amazon Web Services Korea, Megazone Cloud, and Com2uS&N will also operate AI solution demonstrations and content experience programs.
The event is drawing attention because it will not end with AI videos being consumed merely as entertainment. Instead, it will connect creation, exhibition, investment, and commercialization in a single process. The program will test a structure for recreating Jeju’s natural, cultural, and historical resources with AI and linking the resulting works to investment and overseas markets.
Because Jeju’s content industry has fewer points of contact with investment institutions than the Seoul metropolitan area, a key question will be whether the one-on-one business consultations lead to actual investment reviews and follow-up negotiations.
The Jeju Content Promotion Institute plans to increase the synergy between the two events by connecting global creators with Jeju Province through the AI International Film Festival and helping local companies secure investment and distribution networks through the content forum.
Song Myeong-jun, head of the Content Expansion Team at the Jeju Content Promotion Institute, said, “We will make this a platform that connects Jeju’s unique stories with AI and expands investment and overseas expansion opportunities for local content companies.”
