Trump Congratulates Far-Right German Party on Landslide Victory: “Make Germany Great Again”

[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump congratulated the Alternative for Germany (AfD) on the far-right party’s landslide victory in the state parliamentary election, calling it a “really big” win on the 8th local time.
President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Wow! Germany’s populist party had a really great night,” adding, “They are on the rise and will no longer tolerate it! MGGA!!!”
“MGGA” appears to be a German adaptation of his signature slogan, “Make America Great Again (MAGA),” meaning “Make Germany Great Again.”
President Donald Trump also claimed, “They (AfD) have grown fed up with the truly terrible immigration rules and regulations that have done tremendous harm to Germany.”
Earlier, AfD won the Saxony-Anhalt state parliamentary election held on the 6th and emerged as the largest party.
AfD won a landslide victory with 43.8% of the vote after campaigning on the deportation of illegal residents, mandatory work requirements for asylum seekers, reduced support for Ukrainian refugees, stronger patriotic education including the display of the German flag, and cuts to funding for public broadcasters.
Since Donald Trump took office, AfD has been building closer ties with the United States than ever before.
Alice Weidel, AfD’s co-leader, praised Donald Trump as her role model after his return to the White House, while AfD figures also attended President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
