Eli Lilly and Company Korea Receives Commendation from the President of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute for Contribution to Promoting Open Innovation

[Financial News] Eli Lilly and Company Korea received a government award in recognition of its contribution to the revitalization of open innovation in the domestic pharmaceutical and bio industry.
Eli Lilly and Company Korea announced on the 9th that it received the Korea Health Industry Development Institute President's Commendation in the group category of the '2026 Awards for Meritorious Service in Open Innovation Promotion' at the '2026 Global Open Innovation Week - Biohealth' held at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul.
This award was established for organizations and individuals who have contributed to the creation of an open innovation ecosystem in the domestic and international biohealth sector through technological cooperation, joint research, and technology transfer.
Eli Lilly and Company Korea was recognized for its efforts in establishing a domestic base for 'Lilly Gateway Labs,' a global bio-venture support platform, and expanding cooperation with domestic companies for 'Lilly TuneLab,' an AI-based drug development platform, including a business agreement with the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW).
Earlier, Eli Lilly and Company signed a five-year agreement worth a total of $500 million with the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) last March. Key areas of cooperation include expanding open innovation with domestic biotech companies, attracting clinical trials, creating a research environment, and social contributions targeting vulnerable groups.
In the same month, plans were also announced to establish 'Lilly Gateway Labs Incheon' in Songdo International City, Incheon Metropolitan City, in collaboration with Samsung Biologics. This platform operates by providing early-stage biotech companies with research space and opportunities to collaborate with Lilly researchers. The domestic base is scheduled to be completed in 2027 at C-Lab Outside within Samsung Biologics' 2nd Bio Campus.
In the field of AI drug discovery, Lilly is expanding cooperation with domestic companies through 'Lilly TuneLab,' which shares AI and machine learning prediction models built based on its own research and development data with external biotech companies.
