South Korea and Chile Expand Trade Ties... Importers Association Signs MOU with Chilean Export Promotion Agency ProChile

[Financial News] The Korea Importers Association has joined forces with Chile’s export promotion agency ProChile to support companies from both countries in entering each other’s markets and expanding trade.
According to industry sources on the 9th, the Korea Importers Association signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ProChile at the 1st Chile–North Asia Business Summit held on the 8th at Andaz Seoul Gangnam in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will exchange corporate and market information, facilitate business matching, identify trade opportunities, and pursue joint initiatives such as trade missions and business forums. Based on these efforts, they plan to help companies from South Korea and Chile enter each other’s markets and expand economic cooperation.
Ahead of the event, a gala dinner held on the 7th was attended by Mathias Francke, Chile’s ambassador to South Korea; Ignacio Fernández, director general of ProChile; Iván Marambio, president of the Chilean Fruit Association; and Yoon Young-mi, president of the Korea Importers Association. They discussed ways to expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Yoon Young-mi, president of the Korea Importers Association, said, "We will spare no effort in supporting the association’s efforts to further develop trade relations between Chile and North Asian countries and expand substantive business between Chilean companies and South Korean importers and association members." She added, "We will actively help companies from both countries identify new business opportunities and expand trade."
