[Financial News] Emart’s advance-order sales of Chuseok liquor gift sets surged as demand for holiday gifts, particularly wine and whisky, continued. In response, Emart has expanded its selection from premium products to value-oriented sets.
According to industry sources on September 9, Emart’s advance-order sales of Chuseok liquor gift sets from August 6 to September 7 increased 39% from the same period during last year’s Chuseok season. Sales of wine sets and spirits sets rose 39.6% and 38.6%, respectively. Earlier this year, combined sales of spirits and wine sets during the Lunar New Year season also increased 14.4% from the previous year.
Emart is offering a wide range of wine products, from premium to value-oriented selections. The retailer is selling Château Margaux 2018 and Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard Malbec 2021, both of which received scores of 100 from Robert Parker, while also offering value-oriented wine gift sets.
Emart is also operating Wine Grab-exclusive products, which customers order through the Emart app and pick up at stores. Limited quantities of the Masseto 2021 + Salon 2015 set and the single-malt whisky Tamdhu 18 Years are being offered.
Go Ah Ra, an Emart liquor buyer, said, "We worked to offer holiday gifts that satisfy both gift recipients and gift givers." She added, "In addition to holiday gifts, we recommend these seasonal products for personal collections or purchases for gatherings."
