Helping Children Affected by Floods in Nepal... ChildFund Korea and MBC Special Live Broadcast

[Financial News] A special live broadcast will be organized to raise awareness of the plight of Nepalese residents who have lost their families and homes due to the massive floods, and to help affected children.
According to ChildFund Korea, a child welfare organization, 'Nepal Floods: From Despair to Hope' will be broadcast on MBC for 90 minutes starting at 4:55 p.m. on the 9th. This marks the first time in 11 years, since the 2015 Nepal earthquake, that ChildFund Korea is conducting a special live broadcast for charity related to an international disaster.
Announcers Oh Seung-hoon and Ahn Ju-hee will host the program, featuring Baek Soon-jib, head of ChildFund Korea's International Business Division, actress Park Eun-hye, and reporter Kim Young-wa. Baek will explain the local situation and future plans for emergency relief and long-term support.
The broadcast features the stories of residents searching for their families in Uttargaya and displaced people caring for their children in temporary shelters. It also covers the rescue site, where travel takes 14 hours due to cut roads, and the lives of residents obtaining water from damaged pipes.
ChildFund Korea launched emergency relief efforts immediately after the floods occurred, utilizing its own resources and donations. Recently, it has dispatched relief teams and is expanding the scope of its support in collaboration with local organizations.
The donations collected through the broadcast will be used for emergency relief, housing improvement, and livelihood and education support for children in Nepal. Viewers can donate through the official ChildFund Korea website, Happybean, and Kakao Together.
"Continuous attention and support are urgently needed for children whose basic rights are even threatened by natural disasters," said Hwang Young-ki, chairman of ChildFund Korea. "We will continue field-oriented relief activities so that Nepalese children can overcome their desperate circumstances, grow up healthy, and fulfill their dreams."
