“Rental-Car Mobility Support Added to Lodging Incentives”... Naju-si Pilots “Naju: One Night, Two Benefits Plus,” Offering Up to 200,000 Won

【Financial News Naju = Hwang Tae-jong】 Naju-si is piloting “Naju: One Night, Two Benefits Plus,” which adds rental-car mobility support to its existing lodging incentive program for the “2026 Visit Naju Year.”
The initiative aims to encourage tourists who arrive in Naju by public transportation to travel to more parts of the city and stay longer, thereby promoting a tourism city where spending at accommodations, restaurants, cafes, and experience facilities spreads throughout the local economy.
According to Naju-si on the 9th, the city has been successfully implementing “Naju: One Night, Two Benefits,” a lodging incentive program that provides either Naju Love Gift Certificates or Najumall points based on the number of visitors when individual tourists from other regions stay in Naju for at least one night and visit designated tourist attractions during the “2026 Visit Naju Year.”
The newly introduced “Naju: One Night, Two Benefits Plus” adds support for rental-car fees within Naju to the existing lodging incentive program. Its key purpose is to make it easier for tourists arriving in Naju by public transportation, including KTX and intercity buses, to travel within the city.
Yoon Byung-tae, Mayor of Naju, emphasized at the event, “Naju: One Night, Two Benefits Plus is not simply a program that subsidizes rental-car fees. It is a stay-oriented tourism policy designed to help tourists who visit Naju by public transportation travel around the city more conveniently and spend more locally.”
For groups of two or three travelers, the program provides the existing 50,000-won lodging incentive plus an additional 30,000 won for rental-car fees. Groups of four or five receive a 100,000-won lodging incentive and 40,000 won for rental-car fees. Groups of six or more receive a 130,000-won lodging incentive and 50,000 won for rental-car fees. An additional 20,000 won is available for those traveling with children under 18, bringing the maximum benefit to 200,000 won.
Tourists who wish to participate can select the “One Night, Two Benefits Plus” option during the existing application process for “Naju: One Night, Two Benefits.”
However, participants must rent and return the vehicle in Naju during their trip and visit designated tourist attractions in at least three of the four tourism zones: the old downtown area, western, eastern, and southern areas.
Yoon Byung-tae said, “By connecting lodging, transportation, tourism, and spending into a single travel experience, we will provide tourists with a more convenient and enriching trip while ensuring that the local community receives tangible economic benefits.” He added, “We will closely analyze the results of the pilot program and develop it into a sustainable tourism model that generates tangible economic vitality.”
Meanwhile, the existing “Naju: One Night, Two Benefits” program had attracted a total of 16,802 participants as of the 2nd and provided 419.48 million won in lodging incentives. It was assessed as having made a significant contribution to attracting tourists and revitalizing the local economy.
In particular, estimated direct spending in the local area based on a survey of participants’ expenditures amounted to approximately 1.648 billion won, about four times the incentives paid.
In addition, a survey of 1,260 participating groups found that 92.5% of respondents said the “Naju: One Night, Two Benefits” program influenced their decision to visit and stay in Naju, while 95% said they were satisfied with their overall trip to Naju.
