[Financial News] Bizplay, a total expense management solutions provider, announced on the 9th that it had completed the implementation of an electronic documentation system for the Catholic University of Korea Catholic Central Medical Center (CMC).
Bizplay provides its “bzp Expense Management Service” to approximately 2,800 mid-sized and large companies and public institutions and approximately 30,000 small and medium-sized companies. This project was Bizplay’s first electronic documentation implementation for one of Korea’s “Big Five” hospitals and the first case integrating electronic documentation for general administrative and clinical research organizations.
The project supports the integrated processing of major expense documents—including corporate cards, electronic tax invoices, cash receipts, and paper documentation—from collection and voucher preparation through approval and storage in a single system. It also linked internal systems, such as existing management information systems and groupware, to standardize documentation procedures across institutions and improve the efficiency of financial operations.
The implementation began in earnest in August last year and was completed in June this year. After approximately two months of stabilization work, the project was finalized on August 31. The implementation covered 10 institutions in total, including the Catholic Central Medical Center, Catholic University Songeui Campus, and eight affiliated hospitals: The Catholic University of Korea, Seoul St. Mary's Hospital; The Catholic University of Korea Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital; Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital; Bucheon St. Mary's Hospital; The Catholic University of Korea Eunpyeong St. Mary's Hospital; The Catholic University of Korea Incheon St. Mary's Hospital; The Catholic University of Korea St. Vincent's Hospital; and Daejeon St. Mary's Hospital. Artificial intelligence optical character recognition (AI OCR) was applied to paper receipts and invoices. When employees register documentation via a computer or mobile device, key information is automatically recognized, reducing the burden of manual data entry.
The system was also linked to a clinical research project management system. This enables documentation and voucher approval tasks arising not only from general administrative organizations but also from clinical research organizations to be handled within the electronic documentation system.
Chang-kyu Suk, CEO of Bizplay, said, "The Catholic Central Medical Center project is significant because it marks Bizplay’s first entry into Korea’s ‘Big Five’ tertiary general hospitals and is the first case of integrating the expense documentation of clinical research organizations, which had previously been overlooked, into a single system. Building on our experience with this project, we will expand electronic documentation services specialized for medical institutions to support greater financial efficiency and more advanced internal control systems at large hospitals."
