LH to Showcase AI-Powered Future City at Smart City Expo

[Financial News] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) will present a future-city model at the '2026 World Smart City Expo,' where artificial intelligence (AI) analyzes urban data and connects everything from planning and development to safety management and housing services.
On the 9th, LH announced that it had begun operating the 'WONDER LH: AI ON THE LAND' exhibition pavilion at the '2026 World Smart City Expo (WSCE 2026),' which opened at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) in Busan. The exhibition will run through the 11th.
Marking its 10th anniversary this year, the World Smart City Expo is hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), the Ministry of Science and ICT, and Busan. It is jointly organized by LH, Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water), BEXCO, and the Smart City Association to share smart-city policies and technologies and support domestic companies' overseas expansion.
LH has created its own concept of an 'AI city' in the form of a theme park. An AI city is a future-city model in which AI analyzes data generated in the city and applies it to urban planning and development, management and operations, housing, and daily-life services.
The exhibition pavilion is centered on the large media tower 'CITY BRAIN,' which symbolizes an urban intelligence center. It shows how the data hub 'CITY HUB' and the integrated control center 'CITY EYE' connect with 'CITY PARK,' which represents urban infrastructure and spaces, and 'CITY LIFE,' which captures citizens' daily lives.
The main exhibit, CITY BRAIN, combines video with a humanoid robot performance to demonstrate how urban data is analyzed and transformed into services.
At CITY EYE, visitors can see safety-management technologies for new towns and construction sites using LH's disaster-management platform and 'Neulbom A-EYE.' CITY PARK features a pedestrian-safety solution and 'AI Park Builder,' while CITY LIFE showcases the 'LH HOMEZ' app and zero-energy homes.
Side events addressing urban-problem solving through AI and data, as well as the overseas expansion of domestic companies, have also been arranged. At 2 p.m. on the 10th, the 'LH COMPAS International Conference' will be held under the theme 'Ways to Avoid Heat in New Towns in Response to Climate Change, Including Heat Waves.' The awards ceremony for the '2026 LH COMPAS Land and Urban Data Analysis Contest' will also take place.
LH COMPAS is an AI data-analysis platform that enables citizens to identify urban problems, such as safety concerns and the climate crisis, and find solutions using spatial information and other data held by LH.
At the '7th Global Business Convention,' which will be held at the same time, LH will share its overseas business experience and smart-city technologies with the private sector and discuss ways for domestic companies to expand overseas together.
An LH official said, "Through this expo, we aim to showcase LH's vision of a future AI city through a variety of content. We will build safer and more convenient cities in response to rapidly changing future society and technology."
