Han Dong-hoon: "Park Ji-won Is the Original Democratic Party Oppa" vs. Park Ji-won: "Stop Making Snide Remarks and Reflect on Your Conduct"

[Financial News] Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon has continued his offensive against Democratic Party figures, calling the allegations surrounding an alleged request for favors related to approval of a clinical trial for a COVID-19 treatment sought by Kim Seung-won, a candidate for justice minister, the “Democratic Party oppa gate.” He has now clashed head-on with Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker Park Ji-won.
On the 8th, Park Ji-won lashed out in a Facebook post, saying, "Although lawmaker Han Dong-hoon is not qualified to serve as a member of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, he is begging to become a hearing committee member."
He continued, "If 11 prosecutors under the Yoon Suk Yeol prosecution republic investigated the matter for three years and still did not indict anyone, was it because they were afraid of then-first-term lawmaker Kim Seung-won?" He added, "Wasn't the case given a deferred-prosecution disposition because they lacked confidence and because the conduct did not constitute a crime?" Park then urged a special counsel investigation into "the prosecution's internal indictment plans provided by Han, the fabricated and edited release of recordings, the prosecution's despicable investigation at the time, and the illegal investigation."
In response, Han Dong-hoon wrote on Facebook, "Lawmaker Park Ji-won, you are the original Democratic Party oppa, aren't you?" He added, "How is Cho Seong-eun doing?"
The remark was interpreted as referring to Park Ji-won's meeting with Cho Seong-eun at a hotel restaurant in August 2021, when Park was director of the National Intelligence Service. At the time, the People Power Party claimed that Park was behind the background to Cho's raising of the indictment solicitation allegations and highlighted the relationship between the two.
Park then criticized Han, saying, "Lawmaker Han Dong-hoon, stop making snide remarks and reflect on your conduct," and added, "You are blaming me even though you know very well that the conclusion reached by the Yoon Suk Yeol and Han Dong-hoon prosecution was that the indictment solicitation was an internal family dispute among your side and had nothing to do with me."
He continued, "The people who investigated Cho Seong-eun know her better, so ask them. Good grief, she is like a granddaughter to me," expressing his discomfort.
He emphasized, "You may have acted like an oppa in that strange style of yours, like an independent oppa, but I am the Democratic Party's elder brother."
