Bitcoin Falls to Around $78,000 as Middle East Tensions Escalate [Crypto Briefing]

[Financial News] Bitcoin fell to around $78,000 as tensions in the Middle East intensified.
According to CoinMarketCap, a global cryptocurrency information platform, Bitcoin was trading at around $78,000 as of 10:30 a.m. on the 9th, down 0.67% from the previous day on a 24-hour basis. Bitcoin has risen 2.31% over the past week.
Bitcoin was trading at around 106 million won in the Korean won market. The Korea premium was 1.27%, according to Cryprice, a global platform for comparing cryptocurrency market conditions.
The expansion of geopolitical uncertainty sent international oil prices sharply higher, apparently prompting risk-averse sentiment in the cryptocurrency market.
Ansar Allah (Houthis), Iran-aligned rebels in Yemen, claimed on the 8th local time that they had carried out large-scale retaliatory strikes targeting facilities of Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil company, as well as air bases. Meanwhile, armed clashes between the United States and Iran resumed in the Strait of Hormuz.
The November Brent crude oil futures contract settled at $97.92 per barrel, up 0.95% from the previous session. The October West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil futures contract settled at $93.03 per barrel, up 1.69% from the previous session.
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index provided by CoinMarketCap stood at 72 on the day, indicating “greed.” The index ranges from 0 to 100: readings closer to 0 indicate “extreme fear,” while those closer to 100 indicate “extreme greed.”
At the same time, Ethereum was trading at around $2,494, down 0.24% from the previous day. Ripple (XRP) was trading at around $1.41, up 0.78%.
