“My Fridge” Now for Family and Friends: GS25 Introduces Product-Sharing Feature

[Financial News] GS25 has introduced a new sharing feature that allows products stored in its app to be used together with family members, friends, or colleagues.
According to industry sources on the 9th, GS25, operated by GS Retail, opened the “Our Fridge” feature on the Our Neighborhood GS app that day. The service expands the existing “My Fridge” feature, allowing up to five people in one group to use stored products together.
Users can invite family members or acquaintances to a group and either share all stored products or select specific items to use together. Invitation links can also be sent to people who do not use the Our Neighborhood GS app. The existing “Gift” feature allowed users to send a specific product to one person, whereas the new feature enables multiple products to be shared continuously within a group.
GS25 first introduced “My Fridge” at the end of March 2011. The service allows customers to store promotional items in the app instead of receiving them immediately and pick them up whenever they want. GS25 later added features such as gifting, inventory searches, and donations.
More than 1.3 million products are currently stored in “My Fridge” each month. From 2011 through the first half of this year, the cumulative number of stored items exceeded 150 million.
To mark the launch of “Our Fridge,” GS25 will give products to customers who create a group with at least two participants and enter the event by the 9th of next month.
