The National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) announced on the 9th that its mobile notification service was selected as an outstanding case in the 'Increase in Administrative Efficiency' category at the '2026 Kakao Public Innovation Awards' hosted by Kakao Corp. on the 8th.
The Kakao Public Innovation Awards is an event that discovers cases where public sector operations and services have been improved using Kakao Corp.'s digital services. This year, 30 related organizations, including the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS), participated and selected outstanding cases in nine categories.
The National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) has expanded the receiving channels for its mobile notification service from a single channel to include NAVER, PASS, and ChatGPT for Kakao. This allows the public to directly select their preferred channel to check various announcements.
Features designed to enhance information accessibility for digitally vulnerable groups have also been implemented. A voice summary service that delivers a summary of key electronic document contents via audio has been introduced to improve user convenience for the visually impaired and the elderly.
The National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) anticipates that expanding mobile notification services will enhance the convenience of using electronic notices while simultaneously improving administrative efficiency by reducing costs associated with postal notifications.
An official from the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) stated, "We will continue to expand administrative services that citizens can conveniently use by linking private sector digital technologies with public services."
