'K-Smart City to Be Built in Vietnam'...Daewoo Engineering & Construction Chairman Jung Won-joo Meets Hanoi Mayor

[Financial News] Daewoo Engineering & Construction said on the 9th that Chairman Jung Won-joo met with Hanoi Mayor Vu Dai Thang, who recently visited South Korea, to discuss the company’s business in Vietnam and plans for future cooperation.
At the meeting, Jung said, "Daewoo Engineering & Construction has grown alongside Vietnam’s economic development while pursuing various projects in the country for more than 30 years. We will continue to expand our investments in various fields, including new cities, infrastructure, and energy, based on the experience and achievements we have accumulated in Vietnam."
He added, "For the successful completion of Starlake Hanoi and balanced urban development in Hanoi, it is important that administrative procedures, including the relocation of government agencies, land compensation, and permits, be handled swiftly and smoothly." He asked for the city’s support.
Hanoi Mayor Vu Dai Thang responded, "We highly value Daewoo Engineering & Construction’s contributions to Hanoi’s development. The company’s technological expertise is essential to Hanoi’s future, and we ask for your continued support."
Meanwhile, Hanoi announced a 100-year vision master plan in June and is pursuing a transformation into a globally competitive city by completely reorganizing its urban spatial structure around the Red River. A company official explained, "In line with Hanoi’s 100-year vision and urban development strategy, we are envisioning new business models, such as a K-smart city that combines Korean technology with culture and content."
