[Financial News] The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education will recruit 195 teachers for kindergartens, elementary schools and special schools for the 2027 school year.
The education office announced the “2027 Busan Metropolitan City Public and Private Kindergarten, Elementary and Special School Teacher Appointment Candidate Selection Examination Plan” on its website at 9 a.m. on the 9th.
The number of public-school positions reflects vacancies caused by mandatory and voluntary retirements, as well as changes in the authorized staffing levels for kindergarten, elementary-school and special-school teachers.
The positions include nine kindergarten teachers—eight general positions and one for a person with a disability—173 elementary-school teachers—160 general positions and 13 for persons with disabilities—two special-school kindergarten teachers, both general positions, and seven special-school elementary teachers—six general positions and one for a person with a disability—for a total of 191 positions. This is 116 fewer than the 307 positions offered last year.
Private schools will recruit four teachers: one elementary-school teacher commissioned by three school foundations and three special-school kindergarten teachers.
Applications will be accepted through the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education Online Teacher and Staff Recruitment System from 9 a.m. on the 28th until 6 p.m. on the 2nd of next month.
The first examination will be held on November 7, with successful candidates scheduled to be announced on December 9. The second examination will take place from January 6 to 8 next year, and the results are scheduled to be announced on January 27.
The first examination will consist of a teaching-profession essay and curriculum examination. The second will include an in-depth interview, preparation of a teaching-and-learning lesson plan, and a teaching demonstration. Elementary-school teacher candidates will also take an English teaching demonstration and an English interview.
For public schools, candidates passing the first examination will be selected at 1.5 times the number of planned positions by field. Final candidates will be determined by combining their scores from the first and second examinations.
Meanwhile, the implementation plan for the 2027 secondary-school teacher appointment examination is scheduled to be announced on the 30th.
