Seong-Jin Cho Also Won at This Competition... ‘Kumho Young Artist Alumnus’ Jinhyung Park Shares Second Place: “Five-Month Journey, Happiness”

[Financial News] Jinhyung Park, a pianist and Kumho Young Artist alumnus, shared second place at the 18th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, which concluded on the 8th in Tel Aviv, Israel. The prize money was $20,000 (approximately 26.83 million won).
On the 9th, Jinhyung Park said through the Kumho Cultural Foundation, "I am happy to have achieved a good result in a competition that lasted longer than usual." He added, "I also feel a sense of relief at having completed the approximately five-month journey. I sincerely thank everyone who helped me during the preparation process."
This year’s competition featured 39 contestants who passed the preliminary rounds, six of whom advanced to the finals. The finals, originally scheduled for May, were postponed until September because of the war in the Middle East. Dmitry Yudin of Russia won the competition.
The Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition was established in 1974 to carry on the musical legacy of world-renowned pianist Arthur Rubinstein (1887–1982) and discover young musicians. Held every three years, it has previously seen Korean performers Park Jong-kyung, Yeol Eum Son, and Seong-Jin Cho place third.
