According to the Community Chest of Korea on the 9th, the '2026 Community Chest of Korea Distribution Project Achievement Sharing Meeting' was held on the 8th at Community Chest of Korea Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul. Approximately 100 people, including representatives and staff from implementing organizations, attended the meeting to share their experiences and achievements from the outstanding cases.
Last year, the Community Chest of Korea distributed 986 billion won, the largest amount since its establishment, supporting 27,000 organizations and 440,000 people nationwide. After reviewing 158 cases recommended by 17 city and provincial branches across the country based on innovation, project performance and impact, and transparency and efficiency, it selected one Grand Prize winner, two Top Excellence Award winners, and 17 Excellence Award winners.
The Grand Prize went to the Gwanak-gu Welfare Center for the Disabled for its 'Dreaming Picture Book Season 2' project. Beginning with the production of picture books involving adolescents with developmental disabilities, the center expanded its activities to include audio-motion book production, book concert-style disability awareness education, and community gatherings. The content produced was used as disability awareness education material at daycare centers, schools, and local events.
In this project, adolescents with developmental disabilities are both beneficiaries of welfare services and creators of educational content. By using the results of their creative activities in education for local residents, the project serves as an example of connecting the participants' involvement with the community's understanding of disabilities.
The Top Excellence Awards went to Saengmyeongui Teo, which supported the community integration and independence of people with mental illness discharged from residential facilities, and the Ewha Womans University Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, which conducted family case management to support the recovery of adolescents who were victims of school violence.
Meanwhile, the Community Chest of Korea is producing a collection of outstanding distribution cases to share project experiences and achievements, and will present certification plaques to the 20 selected organizations. The achievement-sharing meeting has been held annually since 2024.
