[Financial News] The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT), Daegu Metropolitan City, and iM Bank have signed a "Financial Support Agreement for the Growth Recovery of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Economically Vulnerable Sectors in Daegu Metropolitan City."
According to KODIT on the 9th, this agreement was established to expand the supply of liquidity to small and medium-sized enterprises in the Daegu region and support the recovery of the local industrial ecosystem in response to the long-term recession in vulnerable sectors such as the construction industry.
Under the agreement, iM Bank will contribute a total of 2 billion won to KODIT, comprising a special contribution of 1.2 billion won and 800 million won in guarantee fee support. KODIT plans to use this funding to provide agreement guarantees worth 98 billion won.
Eligible recipients are small and medium-sized enterprises located in Daegu operating in economically vulnerable sectors, such as construction, wholesale and retail, and information and communication.
KODIT applies a guarantee ratio of up to 100% for three years to companies eligible for the special contribution agreement guarantee and supports a 0.2 percentage-point reduction in the guarantee fee rate. In addition, through the guarantee fee support agreement guarantee, it reduces the guarantee fee by 0.5 percentage points for two years.
Daegu Metropolitan City also alleviates the financial burden on companies by providing them with a 1.5 percentage-point interest rate preferential benefit for one year.
"I hope this agreement will help small and medium-sized enterprises in Daegu, which are facing financial difficulties due to the economic downturn, secure smooth financing and establish a stable management foundation," said Kang Seung-jun, Chairman of KODIT. "Going forward, KODIT will continue to cooperate closely with relevant organizations to provide full policy support for the revitalization of the regional economy."
