[Financial News] Woori Bank is expanding productive finance by providing approximately 548 billion won in support to 45 mid-sized companies with growth potential.
Woori Bank announced on the 9th that, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, it has finally selected 45 companies for the 8th cohort of the 'Rising Leaders 300,' a financial support program for mid-sized enterprises.
Rising Leaders 300 is a representative productive finance support program designed to identify mid-sized companies with excellent technological capabilities and growth potential and nurture them as key players in next-generation industries. It has been jointly promoted by Woori Bank and the Ministry of Trade and Industry since 2023.
For this 8th cohort, the existing Digital Transformation (DX) sector was reorganized into the AI Transformation (AX) sector to respond to changes in industrial trends. Following recommendations from four agencies under the Ministry of Trade and Industry and a review by Woori Bank, 45 promising mid-sized companies were selected to build an innovation ecosystem, including KOLMAR HOLDINGS CO., LTD., STATS ChipPAC Korea, and LION CHEMTECH CO., Ltd.
Woori Bank will provide selected companies with loans of up to 30 billion won per company and interest rate preferential benefits of up to 1.0%p in the first year. In addition, it plans to provide various non-financial services, such as import/export financing support, overseas expansion consulting, and business succession solutions.
Park Hwa-geun, head of the Corporate Sales Strategy Department at Woori Bank, said, "By bringing forward the announcement for the 8th round in the second half of this year compared to previous years to identify promising companies early, we achieved a meaningful result by selecting 45 companies, the highest number in history. We will continue to provide full financial support to help mid-sized companies operating on the front lines of the global economy build competitiveness."
Meanwhile, since the program launched in 2023, Woori Bank has provided approximately 2 trillion won in funding to a total of 225 mid-sized companies. In this 8th recruitment round, the bank plans to provide approximately 548 billion won to support the sustainable growth of mid-sized companies in the advanced strategic industries sector.
