Samsung Medison announced on the 9th that it is participating in KCR 2026, which is being held at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Goyang until the 12th, and is introducing imaging diagnostic technologies in the fields of liver disease, breast, thyroid, musculoskeletal system, and urology.
The main exhibited product is the premium ultrasound diagnostic device 'Samsung R20'. The Samsung R20 incorporates 'DeepUSFF', which quantitatively evaluates fatty liver; 'EzSWI', which measures liver elasticity; and 'S-Viscosity', which verifies viscosity-related characteristics of liver tissue.
DeepUSFF showed a high correlation with magnetic resonance imaging proton density fat fraction (MRI-PDFF) and confirmed a diagnostic accuracy of over 90% in mild, moderate, and severe fatty liver stages. EzSWI is a function that reduces examiner intervention by automatically setting the region of interest (ROI), and a study at Seoul National University Hospital showed that it reduced examination time by approximately 55% compared to existing examination methods without a difference in diagnostic accuracy.
The company explains that this allows for the verification of various indicators, ranging from fatty liver to liver fibrosis and tissue viscosity, in a single testing environment.
In the field of digital X-ray, the 'GC85A Vision's Chest Dual Energy' technology is also being introduced. It supports the interpretation of chest lesions by utilizing high-energy and low-energy images to separate and visualize bone and soft tissues.
Cho Young-beom, Team Manager of Domestic Sales at Samsung Medison, stated, "Imaging diagnostic technology must evolve in a direction that supports medical professionals' judgment and reduces the burden of examinations on patients," adding, "We will expand imaging diagnostic solutions based on clinical data."
