[Financial News] Bank of Hope announced on the 9th that it has launched a retirement pension-exclusive 'Government Bond for Individual Investors' that allows direct purchase of government bonds for individual investors through retirement pension accounts.
The 'Government Bonds for Individual Investment,' dedicated to retirement pensions, are savings-type government bonds issued by the government to individual investors, serving as a product that enables the formation of stable retirement assets. 10-year and 20-year government bonds can be purchased in increments of 100,000 won through Defined Contribution (DC) and Individual Retirement Pension (IRP) accounts. If held until maturity, annual compound interest is applied by adding a premium rate to the coupon rate, and returns are expected to be maximized due to the compounding effect.
Tax benefits are provided in proportion to the amount purchased through a retirement pension account. Taxation on interest generated from government bond investments is deferred until the time of withdrawal, so the longer the maturity period, the greater the compounding effect. If the accumulated funds are received in the form of a pension after the age of 55, pension income tax applies, which can lower the tax burden.
The issuance date is the 20th of every month. This month's subscription for government bonds for individual investors will run from today until the 15th. In September, subscriptions are available through branches, and starting in October, they can also be made through Bank of Hope's official mobile app, Hana OneQ.
Meanwhile, Bank of Hope was selected as an outstanding provider for three consecutive years, a first in the banking industry. The bank is continuously expanding its retirement pension product lineup to keep pace with market changes, such as launching the banking industry's first "Guaranteed Performance-Based Dividend Insurance" exclusively for Individual Retirement Plans (IRPs) starting from the 1st of this month. Furthermore, Bank of Hope is providing customer-centric pension asset management services, including operating the "Mobile Pension The Dream Lounge" for customers who find it difficult to visit branches.
