A senior United States official said during a White House phone briefing on the 8th local time, “The plan to raise tariffs on Canadian automobiles, auto parts and steel announced by U.S. President Donald Trump on the 24th of last month remains in effect.”
President Donald Trump also signed a proclamation banning imports of Canadian dairy products, alcoholic beverages and motorcycles starting at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time on the 29th. The White House posted three related proclamations on its website.
