On the 8th, local time, the White House posted three proclamations signed by President Trump on its website regarding the measure.
According to the proclamations and their annexes, the dairy products subject to the import ban include whey protein concentrates, processed whey and molasses.
The alcoholic beverages covered by the import ban include beer made from malt, sparkling wine and wine.
In addition, motorcycles and bicycles equipped with reciprocating internal-combustion piston engines with a cylinder displacement exceeding 800 cc were added to the list of banned imports.
President Trump cited Section 338 of the Tariff Act as the legal basis for the import ban orders. The provision authorizes the president to impose tariffs of up to 50% on products from countries that discriminate against the United States in commercial dealings, or to ban their importation.
