[Financial News] Broadcaster Pungja has indicated that she will not disclose her spouse’s identity even if she marries in the future.
According to Hankyung on the 9th, Pungja made the remarks in a video titled “A Hot Summer Vacation in a Fishing Village” uploaded to the YouTube channel “Poongja TV” on the 7th.
Pungja began by saying, "I’ll meet someone in the future, and I might get married, right? I’ve wondered how much commotion there would be in South Korea when I get married."
She expressed concern about the attention her future spouse would receive, saying that many people would be curious about who the person was if an article titled “Pungja Gets Married” were published. She said, "I’m not getting married right now, and I don’t know who it will be, but I already feel needlessly sorry for that person."
She added, "If I get married, I don’t think I’ll reveal my husband at all."
However, she reportedly said that she wanted to announce the marriage itself to her fans first through her own YouTube channel, rather than through the media or another platform. Pungja added, "If something that wonderful happens, I’ll tell you all sincerely first," and said, "There’s nothing like that at all right now."
Pungja has never publicly revealed a romantic partner. She has, however, mentioned on broadcasts that she broke up with a former boyfriend whom she dated for four years.
Transgender broadcaster Pungja built her profile primarily through YouTube and has recently expanded into terrestrial television entertainment programs. At the 2023 MBC Entertainment Awards, she became the first transgender broadcaster to win the Female Rookie Award.
