Zelenskyy signals willingness to resume peace talks with Russia... Kremlin sees possibility of resuming trilateral negotiations

[Financial News] Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia has expressed its intention to resume negotiations to end the war.
The United States appears to be accelerating its mediation efforts by putting forward concrete proposals to ease tensions ahead of the upcoming winter.
In an interview with the U.S. internet media outlet Axios on the 8th (local time), President Zelenskyy stated that he "heard from U.S. Special Envoys Steven Charles Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who recently returned from a visit to Moscow, that the Russian side is ready to discuss ways to advance the negotiation process."
The U.S. side is reported to have proposed multifaceted measures to ease tensions around this winter, including the protection of energy and power facilities, grain transport, and oil and gas export issues.
Earlier, Special Envoys Steven Charles Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on the 5th, and then traveled to Kyiv, Ukraine, the following day to meet with President Zelenskyy along with a European delegation. Special Envoy Steven Charles Witkoff assessed, "Through this tour, significant progress was made in pushing for additional trilateral talks to end the war."
End-of-war negotiations between the two countries had been in a stalemate for several months due to differences in perspective regarding territorial issues and security guarantee measures.
The Kremlin also left the possibility of resuming dialogue open. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that he did not rule out the resumption of trilateral negotiations between the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine, but drew a line by saying, "It is still too early to discuss the time or place." He also did not rule out the possibility of a phone call between President Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.
