According to industry sources on the 8th, Chairman Ahn was appointed last August as an advisory member of the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council, a constitutional body of the Republic of Korea and a presidential advisory body, and was subsequently appointed chairman of the Culture and Arts Subcommittee of the Dongjak-gu Council on the 5th.
Chairman Ahn has been active in the field of culture and arts through independent film production and nurturing the next generation of talent. From 2022 through this year, he participated as an investor and producer in six independent films containing social messages. He has also worked to discover new actors by providing acting training and casting them in leading and supporting roles in films he produced.
The works he produced have won awards at domestic and international film festivals and have also been released through various online video streaming (OTT) platforms.
In recognition of these activities, Chairman Ahn received the Grand Prize for Contribution to the Development of Independent Film at the '2026 Proud Korean Awards' on March 27.
He is currently also serving as an executive committee member of the Seoul International Children's Film Festival, continuing his efforts to promote the development of film culture for children and young people.
With this appointment, Chairman Ahn plans to engage in cultural and artistic activities to broaden social consensus on unification and peace, drawing on the experience he has accumulated in the field of culture and arts.
