Naver Launches Dedicated Healthcare Organization, Accelerating Medical AI Commercialization

[Financial News] Naver will launch a dedicated digital healthcare organization in October. The move is seen as an effort to strengthen the competitiveness of its healthcare business, which it has identified as a future growth engine, and accelerate the commercialization of medical AI.
According to industry sources on the 8th, Naver will establish a dedicated healthcare organization under its Tech Business Division, effective October 1.
The organization’s name and executive positions have not yet been decided. However, Wi Eui-seok and Chan-hee Park, co-CEOs of Senacl, a cloud-based electronic medical records (EMR) company acquired by Naver last year, will lead the new organization. Senacl operates Oreum Chart, a cloud-based EMR service for primary care clinics. It supports tasks including hospital reservations and registration, medical billing, prescriptions, and patient management.
The new organization will be placed under the Tech Business Division, led by Choi In-hyuk. Naver plans to create strong synergies in digital healthcare by combining Senacl’s medical service capabilities with Naver’s technology.
Naver explained, "The move is intended to help Senaclsoft’s expertise in healthcare and Naver’s services and technology create synergies and grow into a larger business."
The reorganization is expected to prompt Naver to step up efforts to monetize medical AI. In fact, Naver has been concentrating its digital healthcare development capabilities at headquarters, including transferring the Applied AI group from NAVER Cloud to the Tech Business Division in March. The group had been responsible for developing medical AI models and related work.
Lee Hae-jin, chairman of Naver’s board, has also identified medical AI as a future growth engine. At the Digital and Bio Innovation Forum 2025 in March last year, he said, "Naver is serious about investing in medical AI," adding, "After considering how Naver can survive and lead industries in the coming AI era, we found a clue in healthcare."
