According to the National Assembly of Vietnam on the 8th, Roh Tae-moon, head of Samsung Electronics’ DX Division and a representative director, met Tran Thanh Man, chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, in Seoul that day to discuss ways to expand Samsung Electronics’ business in Vietnam.
Roh emphasized that Samsung Electronics has grown together with Vietnam since making its first investment in the country in 2008. Introducing the Samsung management team’s view that "Vietnam’s success and development are Samsung’s success and development," Roh expressed the company’s commitment to long-term mutual growth.
Samsung Electronics currently operates production bases in Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, and Ho Chi Minh City, establishing itself as one of Vietnam’s major exporters. The company is also working to strengthen Vietnam’s industrial ecosystem by supporting local companies in building smart factories and automation systems and operating talent-development programs.
Roh said Samsung Electronics would continue its related business activities and support in line with Vietnam’s policy direction. He particularly emphasized that the company would maintain its investment in high-value, advanced-technology industries.
Tran urged Samsung Electronics to expand its investment in Vietnam. South Korea is Vietnam’s largest source of foreign direct investment (FDI), with cumulative registered investment totaling approximately $102 billion, and Samsung Electronics is one of the largest investors among South Korean companies. The National Assembly of Vietnam said it would continue improving relevant policies and systems so that foreign-invested companies, including Samsung Electronics, can expand their operations stably.
