Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority Holds Investment Promotion Seminar in Tokyo, Japan: “Introduces Success Stories of Tenant Companies”

[Financial News] The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 8th that it held the 2026 Japan Investment Promotion Seminar in Tokyo, Japan, to promote BJFEZ’s investment environment and competitiveness to Japanese companies in the manufacturing and integrated logistics sectors.
The seminar marked the authority’s first overseas investment promotion activity conducted locally in Japan together with companies located in the zone.
Panasia, Eunsan Shipping & Aviation, SAMYOUNG MT, Tsubakimoto Automotive Korea, Unistar, DH Tech, Yesung Steel, Taewoong, Seongchang, Kanglim CSP, Taeyang Gijeon, Talent LNG, and B&P Logistics joined the Japan itinerary, adding the firsthand experiences and perspectives of companies.
More than 100 representatives from major companies and related organizations in Japan attended, including UPS Japan, NH-SENKO LOGISTICS, Tokyo International Terminal, Mitsubishi Logistics, and Daito Corporation from the port and logistics sectors, as well as Yaskawa Electric, Yokogawa Measurement, and Iwatani Corporation from the manufacturing sector.
The authority introduced BJFEZ’s vision, key strategic industries, and investment environment to Japanese companies. It also highlighted the zone’s locational competitiveness, linked to major infrastructure such as Busan New Port, Jinhae New Port, and Gadeok Island New Airport. Rather than simply promoting the location, the event focused on having companies that had already invested in BJFEZ directly share their experiences of settling in, growing, and reinvesting in the zone.
As an extension of its local investment promotion activities, the authority will visit the Japan Ship Machinery and Equipment Association (JSMEA) on the 9th. It plans to discuss technology and business cooperation between Japanese shipbuilding and marine equipment companies and companies in the zone, while strengthening cooperation channels to identify potential investors.
On the 10th, the authority will visit H2 & FC EXPO Tokyo 2026 at Makuhari Messe. It plans to review the latest technologies and industry trends in hydrogen and fuel cells, identify Japanese companies that could be linked to BJFEZ’s key strategic industries, and connect them to future investment consultations and intercompany technology cooperation.
Commissioner Park Seong-ho said, "This seminar was an opportunity for companies that have invested in BJFEZ to directly showcase not only BJFEZ’s investment environment in Japan, but also their actual investment, growth, and success stories." He added, "We will continue follow-up consultations with the companies that expressed interest during this visit and expand cooperation with Japan’s industrial sector to turn these efforts into tangible investment-attraction results."
