Gangwon Development Corporation to Launch Development of Pyeongchang Third Agricultural and Industrial Complex, Gather Residents’ Opinions

【Financial News Pyeongchang = Reporter Kim Ki-seop】A 114,112-square-meter Third Agricultural and Industrial Complex will be built in Jinbu-myeon, Pyeongchang County.
Gangwon Development Corporation said on the 8th that a briefing for residents on the Pyeongchang Third Agricultural and Industrial Complex development project was held that day in the conference room of the Jinbu-myeon Office in Pyeongchang County. The briefing was organized to share the project’s key details and progress with local residents and hear their opinions. The project is being pursued under an agreement between Pyeongchang County and Gangwon Development Corporation, which is carrying out the project on the county’s behalf. The briefing also covered the purpose and details of designating a Rural Vitality Promotion District, a measure being pursued to secure industrial land by utilizing an agricultural promotion area.
The Third Agricultural and Industrial Complex will be developed around Lot 2261 in Songjeong-ri, Jinbu-myeon, covering 114,112 square meters with a total project cost of 25.8 billion won. The plan calls for completing procedures including the establishment of a designation plan and development plan and the designation of the agricultural and industrial complex starting this year, beginning construction in 2029, and completing development by 2031.
Gangwon Development Corporation said it would carefully review the opinions raised by residents and reflect them in the project plan, while working with Pyeongchang County to carry out the relevant procedures without disruption. Through the project, it plans to establish the Third Agricultural and Industrial Complex as a foundation for attracting companies and creating jobs, thereby revitalizing the local economy.
Kim Tae-heon, president of Gangwon Development Corporation, said, "Securing industrial land and attracting companies will create new jobs and a foundation for growth in the region. We will maintain steady communication with residents and work with Pyeongchang County to carry out the project thoroughly."
