Ulsan’s CSAT Applicants Fall 3.2% This Year Due to Declining School-Age Population

【Financial News Ulsan = Reporter Choi Su-sang】 The number of applicants for this year’s College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) in Ulsan fell by 377 from last year.
According to the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education on the 8th, a total of 11,246 applicants in Ulsan submitted applications for the 2027 CSAT.
This represents a 3.2% decrease, or 377 applicants, from last year. The decline is believed to have resulted from the shrinking school-age population.
By educational status, the number of current high school students fell by 469, or 5.2%, to 8,555. The number of GED passers also declined by eight, or 2.5%, to 307.
By contrast, the number of graduates rose by 100, or 4.4%, to 2,384. Demand among graduates appears to have increased as they sought admission opportunities under the current CSAT system ahead of the reform of the university admissions system for the 2028 academic year.
By gender, there were 5,689 male students, or 50.6%, and 5,557 female students, or 49.4%, showing little change from last year.
Meanwhile, the preliminary gathering for test takers will be held on November 18, and the CSAT will take place the following day, November 19. Scores will be announced on December 11.
