Busan Shipbuilding Equipment Companies to Dispatch Trade Delegation to Qingdao and Dalian, China

[Financial News] As Busan’s exports have risen for five consecutive months, shipbuilding and marine-equipment companies in the city are seeking to expand overseas sales channels in the Chinese shipbuilding market.
The Busan Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Cooperative said on the 8th that it will dispatch the China Dalian-Qingdao Shipbuilding Equipment Trade Delegation to Qingdao and Dalian from the 26th to the 30th of next month.
Busan’s exports have continued to grow despite the challenging global trade environment. According to data from the Busan Main Customs Office, the city’s exports totaled $1.389 billion in July, up 6.0% from the same month a year earlier. This marked the fifth consecutive month of growth since March.
Exports to China, one of Busan’s major export destinations, also rose sharply, increasing 19.9% year on year. In response to this recovery in regional exports, the cooperative is supporting Busan shipbuilding and marine-equipment companies in developing overseas markets.
Thirteen shipbuilding and marine-equipment companies, including Panasia EM, KTE, Macron, Hoolutech, and KEPCO Engineering, will participate in the trade delegation. They will pursue export consultations and build overseas networks with local Chinese shipyards, first-tier vendors, and agents.
During the mission, the delegation will go beyond simple consultations with buyers. It will focus on exploring opportunities to enter local supply chains by visiting major shipbuilding-industry clusters in China.
In Qingdao, the delegation will tour the West Coast New Area shipbuilding and marine-industry cluster and hold one-on-one business consultations with major local shipyards, shipowners, and agents. It will then travel to Dalian to hold an export consultation event linked to the 17th China Dalian International Maritime Exhibition and visit shipyards.
The consultations will focus on products in which Busan companies are competitive, including eco-friendly ship equipment for LNG and methanol, fuel-supply systems, valves, pumps, pipes, ship engines, and propulsion systems. Participating companies will receive support for part of their airfare and accommodation costs, as well as interpretation, transportation, buyer recruitment, and other expenses necessary for export consultations.
