Oh Se-hoon: "A City Where Women Can Fully Realize Their Potential Is a Competitive City"

[Financial News] The Seoul Metropolitan Government said on the 8th that it held the 2026 Seoul Women's Convention, attended by about 600 people, including Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and leaders of 55 women's organizations.
At the event, held at the multipurpose hall of Seoul City Hall, Mayor Oh spent time engaging with attendees and building solidarity around gender equality, shared caregiving, and the spread of work-life balance.
A total of six individuals and organizations received awards at the 23rd Seoul Gender Equality Awards ceremony. The grand prize went to the KBS Digital Team of the Broadcasting Unit for Responding to the Low-Birth Crisis, which has highlighted diverse family structures and the lives of younger generations through works including "City Women's Shelter," "Husbands Next Door," and "The Family Next Door."
The top excellence awards went to the Seoul International Women's Film Festival and Kyunghyang Shinmun's women's narrative archive "Flat." The excellence awards were presented to Park Mi-kyung, CEO of FORCS; married couple Hwang Young-jin and Kim Da-som; and the Korea Women Architects Association.
This year, 10 professional and occupational organizations, including the Korea IT Business Women's Association and the Korea Women Engineers and Technologists Association, joined the event for the first time. Families from Seoul's 200 Fathers' Group and Seoul i Ambassadors also took part, sharing the values of shared caregiving and work-life balance.
Mayor Oh said, "A city where women can fully realize their potential is genuinely a competitive city," adding, "We will continue to provide more comprehensive support to back women's careers and growth and help them balance work and family."
