Hyundai Engineering’s Plan B Garden Wins 2026 Seoul Garden City Award

[Financial News] Hyundai Engineering’s ‘Plan B Garden,’ created at North Seoul Dream Forest last year, won an award at the Seoul Garden City Awards.
According to industry sources on the 8th, Hyundai Engineering’s Plan B Garden received the Corporate Partnership Special Award at the 2026 Seoul Garden City Awards the previous day.
Seoul explained that the Plan B Garden was recognized for contributing to the expansion of urban green spaces and the spread of garden culture. It was also reportedly highly rated for linking the garden’s creation with urban ecosystem restoration, citizen participation programs, and vocational training for people with borderline intellectual functioning.
Hyundai Engineering opened the Plan B Garden at North Seoul Dream Forest in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, in May last year. The project was carried out as part of ‘Gift House Plan B,’ a social contribution initiative aimed at restoring urban ecosystems. Its goal is to help conserve biodiversity by providing new habitats for honeybees that are losing their homes due to urbanization and climate change.
The Plan B Garden also reached out to people in welfare blind spots. It provides people with borderline intellectual functioning with vocational training in urban beekeeping, including managing honeybee habitats and gardens and harvesting honey, while laying the foundation for them to grow as members of society.
The Seoul Garden City Awards, now in their 14th year, are a public competition program established to identify and promote outstanding gardens created in everyday urban spaces through the participation of citizens, organizations, and companies.
A Hyundai Engineering representative said, "The Plan B Garden is a public-interest garden that combines urban ecosystem restoration, support for the self-reliance of socially vulnerable people, and citizen-participatory ecological education." The representative added, "We will continue to develop sustainable social contribution models based on the value of space and energy."
