[Financial News] Nonghyup Bank shared its outlook on the global artificial intelligence (AI) data center market and investment opportunities with global alternative investment manager Blackstone.
According to financial industry sources on the 8th, Nonghyup Bank invited Blackstone to a forum at Nonghyup Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 7th. The forum was held under the theme “Answering the Future of AI Data Centers.”
Blackstone is the world’s largest alternative investment manager, with approximately 1,950 trillion won in total assets under management. It manages approximately 248 trillion won in assets in the hyperscale data center sector, giving it one of the largest investment portfolios in the world.
The forum began with a report by the investment banking division on overseas data center assets, followed by a lecture titled “Current Status and Outlook of the Global AI Data Center Market” by Kim Hyo-jin, managing director of Blackstone Korea, and a question-and-answer session.
Nonghyup Bank has maintained close partnerships with global alternative investment managers, including Blackstone, in digital infrastructure investments. It is also working to expand its global portfolio, participating as a senior lender in an Iowa data center project financing deal in the United States this year.
Min Byung-do, vice president of Nonghyup Bank’s GIB division, said, "Nonghyup Bank will continue to review funding demand forecasts and investment opportunities arising from the spread of AI, and will make every effort to expand into overseas markets as a global Nonghyup Bank."
