Woman in Her 30s Falls on Way Down to Underground Parking Garage, Is Run Over and Killed by Following Vehicle

[Financial News] A woman in her 30s died after falling while walking down the entrance ramp of a public parking garage in Gimpo City and being run over by a vehicle entering behind her.
According to Gimpo Police Station on September 9, a report was received at around 8:36 p.m. on September 7 that a woman in her 30s, identified as A, had been run over by a vehicle at the entrance ramp of a public parking garage in Gurae-dong, Gimpo City.
A police investigation found that A fell while walking down toward the underground parking garage. The accident occurred when a vehicle entering the garage behind her continued forward without detecting her.
The driver responsible, identified as B, was found to be a designated driver in his 60s.
Investigators determined that A had been lying outside the parking garage shortly before the accident. She got up and was walking toward the underground garage when the incident occurred.
A was in cardiac arrest when emergency responders arrived. She was transported while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but ultimately died from multiple fractures.
Police believe B caused the accident by failing to maintain a proper lookout. They plan to refer the case to prosecutors after determining the exact circumstances of the incident.
